HEARTS IN SF

In 2015 Laura was one of 9 San Francisco "heartists" chosen to adorn a large San Francisco General Hospital Foundation heart sculpture. In order to turn the fiberglass heart into a reflective chrome mirror, Laura successfully raised the funds needed with an Indiegogo Campaign! The result is #heartsinSF, a 400lb chrome heart affectionately nicknamed “Chromeo.”

After the heart was made it received a generous sponsorship from McKesson, helping raise $50,000 for the foundation. It then spent a week on display in Union Square, then a private buyer purchased the heart, adding $25,000 more to the total. In it’s entirety the chrome heart earned $75,000 for the foundation.

In April of 2022, after 7 long years of being in storage, the heart was placed in San Francisco at the brand new Francisco Park!! You can go visit today, just don’t forget to bring your dog!

In 2016, Laura Lineback was once again selected as an artist for the Hearts in SF project. She created a tabletop heart sculpture supporting LGBTQ+ rights, titled Love Wins.

This piece marks her second Hearts in SF contribution for San Francisco General Hospital. Kara’s Cupcakes featured her design on their packaging, extending her artwork into a broader public collaboration.
